About Us

Statement of Faith

We believe that the following statements summarize the essential truths of the Christian faith as taught in Scripture and serves as the foundation for our church’s teaching and life together.

1. God

Show

We believe in one true God, the Creator of heaven and earth and of all things. He eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is the one true God and is our heavenly Father.

2. Jesus Christ

Show

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He became flesh, being born of the virgin Mary. In order to save humanity from the bondage and judgment of sin, He was crucified, buried, and rose again on the third day. He ascended into heaven and will come again. He is the source of our life.

3. The Holy Spirit

Show

We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God, equal with the Father and the Son. He convicts people of sin, brings new life, and dwells in the hearts of believers. He teaches, guides, and intercedes for believers, empowering them to serve God and others.

4. The Bible

Show

We believe that the Old and New Testaments of the Bible are inspired by God and are without error. They are the supreme authority and guide for faith and life.

5. Humanity and Salvation

Show

We believe that humanity was created in the image of God, but through Adam all people have fallen into sin and are in need of God’s salvation. Only through faith in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross can sins be forgiven. Through Him, we are born again by the Holy Spirit, reconciled to God, become His children, and are called to live holy and righteous lives.

6. The Church

Show

We believe that the Church is made up of all who have been born again through faith in Jesus Christ. Christ is the head of the Church, and believers are united in Him through the Holy Spirit. The Church gathers for worship, fellowship, ministry, and the proclamation of the gospel.

7. Ordinances

Show

We believe that baptism is a testimony of new life in Christ, and that the Lord’s Supper is a remembrance of the great love of Jesus Christ, who died for our sins. These are ordinances given to the Church and serve as a testimony before God and others.

8. The Return of Christ

Show

We believe that Jesus Christ will return to judge all people. The dead will be raised: believers to eternal life with the Lord, and unbelievers to eternal judgment.

Church History

Church History

Chinese Gospel Church was founded on September 15, 1984, originally under the name “Chinese Christian Fellowship.” On June 15, 1994, almost a decade later, the church was renamed “Chinese Gospel Church.”

In its early years, the church consisted of a small group of believers who gathered for worship in borrowed churches and school facilities. Without a permanent location, the congregation relocated many times, making fellowship and ministry growth challenging.

By God’s grace, the church established its first permanent sanctuary in December 1993, where the Mandarin congregation initially gathered for worship. As the church continued to grow, the congregation expanded into the current main sanctuary in the spring of 2004. The original sanctuary later became the gathering space for the youth ministry and now serves as the home of the English Ministry.

In 1998, the church also established family small groups that met in the homes of brothers and sisters throughout the area for Bible study, prayer, fellowship, and evangelism.

We thank God for His continual guidance and faithfulness throughout every season of our church’s history, and we give all glory to Him alone.
